Archbishop of Canterbury, Thomas Cranmer & his terrible demise
Today is 28th May. It was a hugely significant date in Tudor history and is also the birthday of my friend Clare, whose past life was the brave bishop, Thomas Cranmer!
I was to discover as late as April 2022, via hidden keys, clues and synchronicities that Thomas Cranmer was connected to Clare. She has become one of my long-standing friends, since I first moved to Norwich 10 years ago. What I hadn’t realised until recently was that we were tied through our tragic Tudor past lives in the royal court of England! In my work as The Past Life Detective, it’s become crucial to know and remedy any trauma we have experienced in order to release it. We can do this as soul family, I have discovered.
For the non history buffs (that includes me), here is a little spicy background about The Archbishop of Canterbury:
“A leader of the English Reformation and Archbishop of Canterbury during the reigns of Henry VIII, Edward VI and, for a short time, Mary I. He helped build the case for the annulment of Henry's marriage to Catherine of Aragon, which was one of the causes of the separation of the English Church from union with the Holy See. Along with Thomas Cromwell, he supported the principle of royal supremacy, in which the king was considered sovereign over the Church within his realm.” - Wikipedia
Sleuthing Clare’s birthday, location and name synchronicities
Clare's birthday is today, the 28th May, which is the historically crucial day that Henry VIII was married by Archbishop Thomas Cranmer to Anne Boleyn, on the 28th May 1533 (3.33 in numerology). It was a history changing moment!
To enrich the tapestry further and, as we are discussing birthdate and location synchronicities with regard to sleuthing past lives, I unveiled a hugely significant festival, which took place thirteen years previous to their wedding, at Canterbury Palace and Cathedral in Kent. Taking us back to this time, Henry VIII had arranged the biggest party of the century, The Field of Cloth of Gold, when Catharine of Aragon was still his beloved Queen, in 1520. It was a gesture at making better relations with France.
The royal entourage left London and stayed at Otford Palace and Leeds Castle, but they also visited Canterbury Palace in order for him to first meet the Holy Roman Emperor, Charles V. There they received a blessing from none other than Archbishop Warham of Canterbury, It just so happened to take place on Clare's day of birth, 28th May but five hundred or so years earlier, in 1520! So these two significant dates definitely tied Claire to her past life clues, in The Past Life Detective’s opinion.
It was indeed a glittering party. Read more about this extravaganza here:
There was also some useful psychic evidence which I had received from my medium friend, Karen, some time before I had uncovered the above clues. Karen had originally channeled a list of names and places with seemingly scant link to each other or to me. It was my job to go and research these after my psychic reading. It was simply a download of the following pieces of a puzzle, yet to be solved, which I loved:
Catharine of Aragon, a Tudor lady
Anne
Thomas
Manor House
Castle with a moat
Belgian/French connection
I was a Lady-in-Waiting (a most senior position in the Privy to the Queen)
Cardinal Pope
Canterbury
I began with the first clue, ‘Catharine of Aragon’, as that seemed to make sense and brushed up on long-forgotten medieval history in the process. Once I had re-established her as the first queen of King Henry VIII in my mind, it was easy to see that the second clue ‘Anne’ was his second wife, Anne Boleyn. She had of course lived in a ‘castle with a moat’, Hever, in Kent. Both she and her sister Mary had been sent away for finishing education and were lucky to have attended the ‘French’ court of Francois I. So that was the French connection. It was Mary’s father Thomas Boleyn who secured her the position of ‘Maid-of-Honour’ to the English Princess, Mary, (the sister of Henry VIII) up her marriage to the elderly King of France at the time, Louis XII. Later Mary returned and joined the English court as Lady-in-Waiting to Catharine of Aragon and would therefore have come to be acquainted with ‘Thomas’ Cranmer. Now the pieces of the puzzle Karen had given me were starting to make a bigger picture, but what were we to learn from all this?
Later the story took a much darker turn, when the ‘Cardinal Pope’, Clement VII had become involved in the scandal of Henry VIII’s demand for an annulment from ‘Catharine’. ‘Canterbury City’ was of course the seat of Archbishop, ‘Thomas’ Cranmer, who helped research and instigate the divorce and eventually married Henry to Anne Boleyn on 28th May as we saw earlier.
Rebelling against traditions
From a healing standpoint, the significance of remembering Clare’s metaphysical connection to Thomas Cranmer was now looming into sight. It seemed that she had been manipulated all her life by her Catholic mother's beliefs and this would have been the very same feeling Cranmer had experienced earlier in his life, regarding the strictures of celibacy as a young priest in the Catholic order.
Previously, he had married and subsequently been defrocked because he naughtily broke his priestly religious vows of celibacy. Clare had likewise broken with the sexual traditions of her family. Although she had won her freedom and independence, she still secretly sought the approval and love of her parents, causing inner conflict which took many years to overcome. So this we can see as a metaphysical circumstance synchronicity, which often seems to arise with past lives. Once you have solved this puzzle, you can set about the healing process. The aim is to break these patterns and free our soul from repeating them.
Heresy synchronicity
Archbishop Cranmer brought about a lot of religious changes as he openly became a staunch Protestant. Likewise, my friend Clare had come away from the mainstream Catholic religious upbringing bestowed upon her by her mother. She had discovered her own form of spirituality, including become a Reiki healer, something not recognised or supported by her primary carer. Clare was bold enough to talk about her understandings of the world with her family, although it fell on deaf ears. In this way, Clare's life had been very similar to mine, walking away from a religious cult, gaining inner freedom.
In contrast, Cranmer, unfortunately should have stood his ground to the death and only did so at the eleventh hour, which looked a bit lame. He was already bound and about to be burnt at the stake by Mary I, (Catharine’s only daughter and a rabid Catholic) when he reverted and proclaimed out loud his staunch belief in Protestantism. Earlier, his overwhelming fear had led to the betrayal of his principles, when confronted by the teeth of the ferocious Catholic killing machine. In this carnation, Clare had shown her bravery and overcome this fear, becoming a conscious hero in her own world. I think she deserves a spiritual pat on the back and a big cheer!
In my next Substack, I will tell you more of the curious location synchronicities that Clare shared with Thomas Cranmer and you will see how everything fell into place when I following the breadcrumb trail further. I will also tell you about the healing ceremony we undertook to release any residue fears from the terrible demise of Cranmer’s passing.
