Bodice ripping in the French court, 1514
I had fun with this one! Join OnionUnlimited on YouTube as I delve into the bawdy story of King Francois I, Mary Boleyn and their secret shenanigans
In short, I had already sleuthed one of Rose’s past lives some years earlier. If you love Tudor history, there is a chapter about her past life as aristocrat and courtier, Mary Boleyn, in my book “Past Lives That Matter - how to remember, heal and transform them”
The chaotic story unfolds in the early 1500s around the ambitious Boleyn Family. Anne Boleyn became the infamous second wife of King Henry Viii and far less is known about their elder daughter, Mary, and not all of it good. During the sleuthing of this past life for Rose, The Past Life Detective had learnt some fascinating details about the beautiful but free spirited Mary Boleyn. She had the usual higher education, learning languages including Latin, horse-riding, falconry and all manner of conversational skills in order to snare a suitably rich husband and thereby elevate her family’s status.
Much to the Boleyn’s embarrassment, Mary had kicked over the traces at 15 years old and went a bit mad in the licentious French court of the handsome young King, Francis I. Initially she had the good fortune to be picked as maid-of-honour to Princess Mary Tudor’s bridal party (Henry VIII’s sister), when she had travelled to France to marry King Louis XII in 1514. After his sudden death a couple of months later (his elderly ticker just couldn’t take it), the eighteen year old Queen of France had to return to England. Mary Boleyn’s father managed to wangle it that she stay on at the French court. He was obviously hoping for her good match in marriage to a French aristocrat or courtier.
We normally see repeating patterns from past lives mirrored in our own circumstances. Just as Rose had broken away from her restrictive and controlling religious upbringing and manipulative parents, Mary was straight out of the gate and in her element in the bawdy goings on in the new King’s Palace Louvre, in Paris. No longer under the watchful eye of her father, a diplomat, she garnered herself a reputation with the men and became extremely popular in the process.
She did not escape the eye of young King Francis I, who also had a reputation as a dandy. He was far more interested in the arts and music, than commanding an army and leading the country to war. It wasn’t long before he made overtures towards the attractive Mary Boleyn. He had just been hastily married off to his cousin Claude once King Louis VII was on his death bed and it was certain that Francis would ascend the throne. To say that it was not a love match is an understatement. Claude is rumoured to have been dumpy, ugly and crooked, of a tiny bent over stature, but she was the royal baby machine. Francis took good care to keep his sexual shenanigans quiet in those early years of his reign. Before long, Mary became his secret mistress and what a time they had. Many years later he bragged to Henry VIII, referring to her as his English mare, as he had ridden her so often!
As life imitates art, past life reflects in present and Rose, against her better judgement had embarked on a passionate, but forbidden affair with James, the modern day counterpart of Francis I. Discover how I joined the dots in the link below to find out my method of determining their past lives.
Some time later, I then had the good fortune to meet both an astrologer, Jackie Wrenn (for a reading email, Jackiejoy904@hotmail.com) and a numerologist, Ian Michael (message him on mobile: +44 7713 633170 for a reading), who I employed to delve into a new venture. That of determining how the two couples stars, planets and Gematria matched their characteristics and circumstances, spanning hundreds of years! This was a new challenge for us all, but surprisingly successful.
